This piece of moulding offers a finishing touch and has a variety of uses. As a shoe, it is installed at the base of a baseboard or along the bottom edge of a wall where it meets the floor, which covers the gap between the flooring material. Used as a cap, it can be installed on top of a baseboard, chair rail, or wainscoting to add visual interest and create a more finished appearance. Third, used as a panel, it creates raised or recessed look on walls or ceilings that can be installed in various patterns such as squares, rectangles, or geometric shapes.
