Load Capacity 3,000 lbs. Porch posts are not designed to be in a free standing application. An internal structural support will be required on free standing applications. Any trimming must be from the top end of the porch post. All wood surfaces must be primed, ends must be sealed with caulk, and a high-quality exterior topcoat applied. A plastic plinth, elevated bracket, or aluminum plinth must be used between post and platform. Top must be completely covered & sealed to prevent moisture from entering top of post.
