TimberTech® DrySpace™ designed for second-story decks, DrySpace is an under-deck water management system that collects and channels moisture away from the home, so you can make the most of the space underneath your deck. Adding crisp, clean lines above and a clean space below, DrySpace is made of solid extruded vinyl for maximum strength, durability, and weather resistance.
Single and double combo brackets fit over your joists.
DrySpace is designed for decks with 12 in. and 16 in. on center joist spacing. A 2 in. x 6 in. filler board can be installed to accommodate joist spacing up to 14 in. for the 12 in. on-center and 18 in. for the 16 in. on-center. The open space between on-center joists should not be more than 11 in. for the 12 in. on-center, and no more than 15 in. for the 16 in. on-center. For decks with joist spacing greater than 14 in. on-center, the DrySpace kit for 16 in. on-center joists should be used, and for decks with joist spacing greater than 18 in. on-center.
Installation of DrySpace must stop a minimum of 3 in. before the Fascia. This allows water to exit the DrySpace panel and provide for ventilation. Recommended installation of gutters to guide water away.
Never install DrySpace over a beam.
DrySpace should not be spliced to achieve longer runs. Lapping the system could result in leakage.
DrySpace should not be enclosed with a wall around the outside perimeter of the deck. It is not intended to be a water proof roof system.
DrySpace must be installed so that water runs away from the house. Recomended to use hot-dipped galvanized nails or stainless steel screws for installation.
Appliances, such as dryers and exhaust fans, should not be vented into the space between the deck surface and DrySpace panels.
Installation is easiest with two people.
Installation requires a slope to drain water away from structure or house.
