Smart Vent Dual Function Foundation Vent, 16 in. x 8 in.
Smart Vent Model 1540-510 is used for both ventilation and flood protection. Constructed of T316L stainless steel, it is made to withstand harsh marine and chemical environments. As ventilation, a bimetal coil automatically opens and closes the louvers as the temperature changes. The louvers are fully closed at 35 (F) degrees and fully open at 75 (F) degrees. As flood protection, the vent door is latched until it comes in contact with standing or slow-moving flood water where it automatically opens to relieve potentially damaging hydrostatic pressure from foundation and enclosure walls.
