General Finishes®, Glaze Effects are translucent water-based colors used to create decorative finishes. For use over stains and paints, Glaze Effects will add depth and character to any piece. This clear base can be tinted towards selected colors.
Sample Mixes: 1 Part Milk Paint + 1 Part Glaze Effects Clear Base (50:50 Mix) Proportions are relative to the color you are reducing. Some colors may require 2 parts Clear Base to reduce strength, others may require only 1 Part of Clear Base as needed to achieve the desired color effect. Increase your color palette by mixing 2 or 3 Milk Paint colors together before adding the Clear Base to reduce to a glaze.NOTE: On-screen and printed color representations may vary from actual tinted paint colors. Recommended to test the color on an inconspicuous area before you start any project.

Application Conditions: Recommended 70°F and 50% humidity, out of direct sunlight. Variations in conditions and application technique can significantly affect dry times and coverage. Use GF Accelerator in cool or humid conditions. Use GF Extender in warm or dry conditions.
Surface Prep: Always ensure the surface is clean of contaminants and dust. Sanding any surface too smoothly can reduce adhesion and create application issues like orange peel.
Raw Wood: Not recommended.
Pre‐finished Wood: Clean using 50/50 mix of denatured alcohol and water with a maroon non‐woven pad. Sand with fine (220‐320) foam sanding pad or maroon non‐woven pad.
Other Substrates: Can be used with proper priming and/or painting. Always test first.
System Recommendations: Seal Glaze Effects with 2-3 coats of GF topcoat to protect color from wearing away.
